2024 will be a busy year for our board and myself as president.  One of my main goals is to have a consistent and regular monthly breakfast meet up.  The Cowboy Tavern has been very accommodating, and we have a really nice route to get there, which is a big part of the fun.  The location was chosen as a great spot between our Northern Antelope Valley members and our Santa Clarita members.

We continue to grow our membership, a big part in that is our partnership with Santa Clarita Porsche, and our band of members who dedicate their time and effort every month, to help out at our membership tent, rain or shine.

When the club has volunteers who are willing to go to this effort every month, it shows to the general public that PCA Cal-Inland is a great club to be a part of.  We see a lot of the same people each month and build a relationship, whether they own a Porsche or not, and this helps put a face to the brand and club when they decide to take the plunge.

We have continued to put on some great drives, with different members stepping up to lead and sweep as needed. This is important to avoid burnout from the same people running all the drives.  Our “ride with GPS” app has been a great help with enabling new folks to feel confident to lead a drive.  

This was a great help to me personally, as I was out of action to lead our Malibu drive, and members volunteered to lead and sweep the drive at the last minute. We also updated the route to include some of my favourite canyons in the area, which had a positive response from those who attended.

For 2024, we have scheduled a host of great drives building on some favorites from years past, so if folks missed out, they will have another opportunity to participate. Getting our calendar scheduled early helps people plan for their year, and also helps us to avoid conflicts for Zone 8 events like our concours.  Of course, we will be updating this as and when we have decided on events and dates.
